South Korea and the Asian star Son

Among the many players who have defined the standard of South Korean football in history, Son Heung-min must be mentioned at the top. Son is not only one of the most famous Asian footballers, but he is also considered a hero by football fans in South Korea and the entire South Korean public. Previously, if we were to name a South Korean icon, we would have to point to Manchester United legend Park Ji-sung, who is considered the best player in South Korea all time. Now, Son is even more famous than Park Ji-sung.
Son Heung-min was born on July 8, 1992 in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, to an ordinary family and has risen to the top, which is one of the reasons behind Son's success. Son Heung-min's father, former international Son Woo-jun, had high hopes for Son from a young age and trained him to become a good football player. Son himself has loved football since he was a child, and his father's coaching helped him acquire a good foundation in football techniques. Son began his youth career at the 𝐅𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥 team. 𝐅𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥 also played for the 𝐅𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥 team. While playing for the 𝐅𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥 youth team, Son was given the opportunity to play as a 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐲 (ball-kick) at some of the first team's home games, learning how the senior players play. At the time, Son's 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 was Crystal Palace and Bolton midfielder Lee Chong-young. Son moved to Germany in 2008, aged 16, to join the 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐕 academy. At that time, Son was selected for the South Korean team that participated in the 2010–11 World Cup. In the 2010–11 season, Son turned 18 and signed his first professional contract, making his debut for the Bundesliga club. Son performed well in his first professional season, scoring 3 goals in 14 appearances. Football analysts have praised Son as a player who can follow in the footsteps of former South Korean star Kim Jong-un. In the 2011–12 season, Son became a key player for Hamburg, scoring 5 goals in 30 appearances, and scoring in key matches, helping Hamburg stay in the Bundesliga that season. The following season, 2012–13, saw the departures of key strikers Petr Cech and Guerrero to Fulham and Corinthians respectively, and the manager made Son his main starting XI. Son made 34 appearances that season, scoring 12 goals.
In 2013, he moved to Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year contract for a club-record fee of €10 million. Son settled in quickly and scored a hat-trick in a rematch with former club Hamburg. Son made 43 appearances in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen that season, scoring 12 goals. The following season, he became an integral part of the team, scoring 17 goals in 42 appearances.
After two years at Leverkusen, Son joined Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of £22 million on a five-year deal, becoming the most expensive Asian player in history. At Tottenham, Son Heung-min has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, playing alongside captain Harry Kane. Son is now the all-time leading Asian scorer in the Premier League and Champions League, surpassing Korean player Kim Jong-un's record of most goals in European competition. In 2019, Son became the second Asian player to reach the Champions League final after South Korean legend Kim Jong-un. In the 2010–11 season, he shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah with 23 goals, becoming the first Asian player to win the award. In April 2023, he became the first Asian player to score 100 Premier League goals, making him Tottenham Hotspur's fifth-highest scorer. Son is the third player to make 300 Premier League appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, behind Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane.
Son has been a key member of the South Korean national team since 2010, and has been a key player for the team ever since. He also scored the winning goal in South Korea's historic 2–0 win over Korea Republic in the 2018 World Cup. Son also won the gold medal with the team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. To date, Son has scored 51 goals in 131 appearances for the South Korean national team, making him the second-highest scorer behind legendary striker Kim Jong-un.
Son Heung-min is a star who will always shine in the history of South Korean football, and Son's unique attacking skills and technique have proven that he is an Asian player who has proven himself in Europe many times over. Let me end this article by saying that ...
