Joshua Van, the UFC's only Myanmar fighter

Joshua Van is a young Burmese Chin fighter competing in the UFC's Flyweight division. Joshua Van was born on October 10, 2001, in Hakha, Chin State, Myanmar. When Joshua Van was 10 years old, his family fled to Malaysia to seek better opportunities. Two years later, Van's family moved from Malaysia to Houston, one of the most populous cities in the southern United States. Van entered the UFC at the age of 21. Many famous veteran fighters have commented that Van's age is too young for a UFC fighter.

Van made his professional debut in 2021. Although Van has only been in the MMA world for about 18 months, he has already made a name for himself as an amateur fighter. He overcame his professional career and won the Fury Fighting Championship Flyweight Championship. In such a short period of time, Van arrived in the UFC just two years after his professional debut. It is not easy to reach the UFC so quickly. Van has fought a total of 15 fights, losing only 2 and winning 13. Van is the only Burmese fighter to enter the UFC. At UFC 313, Van fought Japanese fighter Tsuruya and won by unanimous decision.

Van continued his winning streak by defeating Rei Tsuruya. All three judges scored the win by unanimous decision. Van was the first to lose in Rei Tsuruya's professional career. It was a really good fight, with Van dominating every round, and the last round was even tougher. As the match progressed, they didn't even say goodbye after the match because they were still in a good mood.

In his first match under the Myanmar flag, he was able to decisively defeat an undefeated Japanese fighter like Tsuruya, which is an unforgettable memory for Van. I wish Van more success. Thank you very much to everyone who read to the end.
